Paperwork

My concept for this show was to play into the nature of Atmospheric Comedy. As a devised piece, there are many instances where we are in a location, and I can add atmosphere to that location, but we're not exactly in the correct time period. We also had many instances of comedic moments and sound effects that didn't need to fit the typical mold. In fact, they were encouraged not to fit the mold to aid the show's comedy. These atmospheric elements were relatively minor: a small cityscape in the background during the city scenes, wind blowing through a tunnel, and someone typing on a keyboard during the writers' room scene—just that extra something to help the audience buy into the story they're watching. To make this show feel like a comedy show, we also had a heafty amount of needledrops and a handful of songs inside the show to aid in that comedic feeling.

Initial Sound Effect Ideas

Reverse Cymbal FX

School Bell

Sword Swing

Arrow Strike

Thunder Strike

While researching this show, I found a few sound effects that might work. All of these sound effects made it into the final product.

Preshow/Post Show Ideas

Attached are some of the songs I thought might work well for pre-show and post-show. Some of these songs made it into the final product, while some were cut because they appeared elsewhere in the show.
